Who We Are

Chad and Stephanie Armstrong are the owners of All Creatures Kennel.  Stephanie grew up on a farm in Minnesota where she was surrounded by animals of all kinds right from the beginning.  Her interest in animals prompted her to pursue a career as a zookeeper.  She graduated from Santa Fe Community College with an Associate of Science degree in Zoo Animal Technology and immediately got hired at the San Antonio Zoo in the Bird Dept.  where she worked for 5 years before the city life got to her and she decided to switch jobs.  She then went on to travel the country accepting short term positions as a Field Researcher, working for various government agencies such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Forest Service, studying birds in the wild.  After doing that for 2 1/2 years, she decided she better get a more permanent job again, and chose to get back into zookeeping, and promptly got hired at the world famous San Diego Zoo, where she worked for 3 years, until the city got to her again, and she and her husband moved out to the country and came up with a grand idea to open a boarding kennel at their home, so that she can still take care of animals, which is her real passion.  She still works at a local veterinarian as a vet tech during the day.

Chad grew up in San Diego, CA and  is currently a mechanic at a local repair shop.  He has had an interest in vehicles of all kinds since he was a little kid, building his own go-kart.  He is a handyman extrordinaire that can fix, wire, weld, glue, bolt, hammer or jerry-rig just about anything.  He has also been an animal-lover from the start, and has had a dog, ducks, iguanas, and chickens since before he and Steph met.  Now their combined collection of animals includes 2 dogs, 3 cats, 1 cockatiel, 2 ducks, 13 chickens,  4 pigs,  and about 50 catfish in their pond!
